Invisible Wounds

Invisible Wounds--

I want someone to see the scars seared onto my skin,
The bleeding wounds that are tearing me apart,
And the bruises covering me like a coat of paint.

But I suffer in silence, completely alone,
For these wounds aren't visible,
As the only thing that tears into me are words.

All I'm left with is a broken heart,
A damaged mind,
And a shattered soul.
